  Green screen video (objects) affecting water plane

  Hi there,
  For a client I’m making a 3D surrounding in which there are mermaids (shot on a green screen) that are sunbathing around a lake. For the lake part I used a plane with and aplied a water like material on to it, the tricky part is that the client wants the water to move (create a wave) when the mermaids tail ‘touches’ the water. Is there an easy way to do such thing?
