Green Screen Optimization
Hey guys,
It’s my first time using a green screen, and I’m trying to optimize the results. I’ve attached a small sample from the green-screen sequence. The kid in the foreground is green-screened onto the video, and I’ve been trying my luck with the settings on Keylighter in order to get rid of the artifacts and weird pixelation around his head line, with very partial success using the Clip Black/White settings. I’ve also tried applying a simple choker with no luck.

Denoise your footage is you can (I reply heavily on Neat Video for this kind of work) as that will get rid of some of the judder/noise/
Mostly, though you could probably mask around your foreground actor. A semi-tight mask would do the trick and then you could finesse your edges in keylight. Your foreground subject doesn’t move a ton, so I think it would be a good first step.

Angelo makes some good suggestions, especially regarding creating a garbage matte so that you’re only keying the area immediately around your subject.
