    Hello,

I am shooting a pair of shorts on a green screen for a video I am making and am keying out the green using AE CS5 Keylight 1.2.

The problem is I am getting a lot of noise on the shorts. I have messed around with clipping the blacks and have even creating a garbage mask as an alternative but am still getting a good amount of noise on the shorts.

What is causing this? Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Here’s the image. I know it is not anywhere near perfect.

it would be best if you could post an image that points out the noise, but if you’re talking about what i think you’re talking about, in the screen matte settings, set the replace method from soft color to hard color.

    Kevin,

It it is hard to see the noise in an image you can really only see it when I play back the video but your suggestions worked and the noise is gone. Thank You!

Thanks for this post. Very helpful. Like I said I am new to this so any advice will greatly help.

Just so you know I shot this with the Panasonic HPX170 720p 24p. Straight off the camera to FCP then imported into AE.

Is there anything else I can do as far as compression?
