Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Green Screen

I recently bought a new G5 with FCP. Everytime I cut to a slug or have an empty space in the timeline I get this awful flourscent green screen. In another forum they suggested final cut may be corrupt. How do I go about properly reinstalling it?

before you do that try opening the third tab in the canvas window that deals with image, wireframe, ect. make sure RGB is clicked and on the bottom fool around with the black, white and checkerboard options.

I have worked with other editors that have had this problem as well, and I have started to notice similar problems. When I play footage in reverse, the images squeezes to 1/2 the size of the viewer/canvas frame (it happens in both) and becomes inverted and green (as in like an old 2-tone apple IIGs monitor). It only happens when playing footage backwards. Trashed prefs – didn’t help. Could these problems be related?
