As painful as it’s been saying goodbye to FCP 7 and as unworkable as FCP X is for broadcast….I’ve slowly been learning AVID MC — and while FCP has a wealth of plugins and filters to make the complex, simpler — AVID is a very good tool I would have never learned had APPLE not blown up the decade we invested in become FCP 7 experts.

If you are a FCP Editor frustrated with FCP X….these free AVID for FCP Editor tutorials may make the transition easier

(the video tutorials are at the bottom of the page – and even though this is for AVID MC 6 virtually everything applies to 5.5 as well)

    Enjoy

Interesting. I work between FCP7, X (Somewhat now) MC, and premier. Avid is one of the most powerful tools out there, but it is also a cumbersom and non-intuitive interface to learn. Great to see some free tutorials out finally on how to best utilize the product.

Thanks very much for this – I LOL’d at some of the customer comments though. So over the top !
