Great news: default gamma in Snow Leopard will be 2.2
Someone at Apple was listening:
Gamma 2.2
The default gamma has been changed from 1.8 to 2.2 to better serve the color needs of digital content producers and consumers.

Fantastic. Let’s hope Quicktime X inherits the updated gamma handling as well.

Seriously? I can’t tell you how good this is. Thanks so much for pointing this out. Quicktime will have to inherit it.
This makes me think that more good things are coming with Snow Leopard, we all just have to wait and see.
