  • Gray recycling signs… corrupt nodes/version?

Posted by Drew Lahat on October 16, 2012 at 11:53 pm

I’ve been using Resolve for about a week, and every day brings new surprises…

I loaded a session that was orderly closed yesterday. Everything is in order except version 1 of the last shoot I graded. The 3 nodes it include have no thumbnails, just gray recycling symbols (I’ve never seen them before except for a fraction of a second before thumbnails are drawn). Making changes to those nodes, or adding new ones, doesn’t do anything.
“Update All Thumbnails”, or reopening the project, doesn’t make any difference.

New or alternate versions all work fine.

Is this a corruption, or am I missing something?

Could you check if the node graph of that clip is connected to the output?

There was a link chain from input to output, but the solution did have to do with the links.

From the input, I had one serial node splitting to two more nodes, and only one of those was linked to the output. As soon as I rearranged the nodes in a fully compliant manner*, the version got “unstuck” and the video & thumbnails came back.

*I organized them all serially, and added a parallel combiner node. Either way worked.
