  • Gray halo on matte key…

Had an interesting issue pop up today. Created a letterbox type matte in Photoshop to lay over my footage in MC5. The matte has fairly rough edges to make the footage look like a strip of torn paper. There is quite a bit of gray value between the white and the black. When I imported it into MC, it didn’t treat the gray values as semi-transparent, they just show up gray. The white and black values were processed correctly though, leaving me with gray halo on the edges of my footage. I thought that maybe it was an issue with the .PSD file so I saved it as a .PNG instead. Same thing. I ended up having to delete the Matte Key effect within the timeline and then re-apply it from the effects tab in order to get the gray values to appear semi-transparent like they are supposed to. Anybody else experience this?
