Grass Valley HQX Codec used to work in my FCPX until 10.3 update
I need a codec suggestion please –
1) Since the FCPx 10.3 update the GV HQX codec is no longer fully functional in FCP. it will play but you cannot scrub and search the file the screen goes black. One of my collaborative partners I exchange files with uses Edius and another Vegas Pro.2) I am no codec expert
3) Problem:
All of the footage we receive is recorded in HQX AVI 1920×1080. I have no choice in that.
Now, I am looking to Transcode the HQX into ??? so that we can exchange between us 3 – Vegas, FCPx 10.3 & Edius files easily, without losing any more quality that I have to.
a) DNxHD good for FCPx not for Vegas!
b) Edius MOV,s do not work in FCPx but will in Vegas!
The best 2 (I think) formats that I have found to work in Edisu-Fcpx & Vegas are HDcam 422 50 and XAVC Intra100.
Which of these 2 is best for us to use OR is there another option???Thank U

By the way I tried transcoding the THE HQX AVI codec to Pro Res in FCPX it seemed to go through the process and when it finished, It played audio and a Green Screen (no video)??? So I am look and alternative – I can convert to XACV Intra 100 or HDcam HD422. Wondering which is better to retain highest quality?
