    Hello,

I have a lower 3rd graphics file and it looks great over all the video footage in my sequence, but when it is over a still image, the very top line of the graphic vibrates/jitters a noticeable amount. Any thoughts on why and how to fix? I’d rather not introduce blur if I can help it.

Is it a pixel aspect ratio issue with the stills?

    I’m working in FCP 7.

    Thanks!
    Marc

If it’s high contrast and interlaced that could cause the flicker. If there’s a thin horizontal line at the top, that could be the culprit. You could try cropping a line or two and see if that helps. Otherwise, try a slight feathering of the edge.

This is also made better and worse by subtle shifts in the overall vertical positioning of the text.
