    Hi

I am working on a HD documentary which uses hd and sd rushes. I have the capture settings for those sorted out but there are also lots of graphics and stills to import. My question is….is there an import setting to make sure the files are imported at 1:1 quality. is there any import settings anyway? i am importing quicktime movies that i know are SD uncompressed but when i import them they are coming in with a “photojpeg” compression.

Also i was wondering if there is a batch import option. we are onlining on the same machine that we offlined on. is there a way i can highlight the graphic in the master clips bin and re-import it so it goes straight in to the sequence or is importing it in and eyematching it back in the sequence my only option???

    any help is much apreciated!

There are no import settings… i.e. whatever the source clip’s properties are, they are maintained and imported as such in FCP. So if your QT movies show that they have a jpeg compression, they DO have a jpeg compression.

If you select your offline sequence and open the Media Manager from it, you can create an “offline” copy of it, which will include everything not captured from tape (your graphics for example), then you recapture the footage in high res that is from timecoded sources.
