graphics coming to edge
hi…i have a quick question
i’m using a graphic in fcp as an alpha chanel…
basically it’s a transparent see-thru type of effect..the problem i’m having is sometimes the graphic goes off the screen..,
and sometimes it looks like it’s being cut off…it’s not going past the safe title so to speak…
any way to fix this or is it just plumb luck where the graphic ends up ? -

Post what the file format is of the graphic, and how large it is in pixels, then also post what the sequence setting you are putting it in is.

the picture is a photoshop image
it is 720×486 (produced the correct way in photoshop to make it fcp compatible)basically i took the image and razor cut it in my sequence to create a motion type wobble effect.
however like i said sometimes the image is getting cut off…it stops at at the graphic safe title…
other times it goes full bleed right to the edge. -
If the image is 720×486, and if you are moving it around to do the wobble effect, then you are revealing the edge of the image during the move. Create your image larger than default if you are planning to do any movement in FCP. Sounds like you’re moving it to the title safe border, so I’d create it 20% larger in Photoshop and you should be fine in FCP. Only create graphics at 720×486 if you plan on NOT moving them at all in FCP.
