  Graphics Cards, AE 7.0 and Open GL on the Mac

  Hi. I’m running AE7.0 on a Powermac G5 Dual 2Ghz (PCI only version) under OS 10.4.6. I’m thinking of getting a new graphics card to replace the existing 128 MB Radeon 9600, and the two I’m considering are the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT (or Ultra DDL) and the ATI Radeon X800 XT (or X850). This is purely to increase performance whilst using After Effects, eg. for previews and scrubbing etc. I’m not too fussed about increased Render times, I just want it to feel faster whilst working on comps. I don’t play games or have two 30 inch monitors or anything like that. Having read some of the threads on here about Apple and Adobe’s implementation of Open GL in OS 10.4 and AE7, I’m wondering what sort of an increase I might get and which card is best. Any thoughts?
