We are at the point where we are stringing out our film in its entire length; 2.5 hours. We are getting “Preparing Video for Display” a lot. Our graphics card is not that great, I am not at the system so can’t give specifics; but it is an ATI 2000 level series with 256 Mb of RAM. Would upgrading to the ATI 4870 speed up this on these very long and convoluted sequences? If so I will order one up ASAP.

    Hi Scott,
I may be wrong, but I think the performance on ” “Preparing Video for Display” is more related with the RAM than with the video card.
Make sure that you have only one sequence open.
