So I wake up this morning to the exciting news that FCPX is ready to download, but then I click on the purchase button and I’m told that my graphics card doesn’t meet the minimum requirements.

My Mac Pro is only a few years old and is an Intel Quad-core, but I guess it just has the stock graphics card it came up with, the ATI Radeon HD 2600. Any idea what graphics card I not only need but am allowed to install on this machine? It is the Mac Pro 3,1, 2.8 GHz Xeon. Thanks! I’m dying to play around on the new FCP. Hopefully my work computer is up to spec.

Same issue here with 3.1 8 Core. It would have been nice if they had the specs posted in advance so one could buy a new GPU.

    Now the real problem.
While you can get the Radeon 5770 or 5870 and all reports say it’ll work, Apple doesn’t officially support it in the MacPro 3.1. So does this mean FCPX will recognize it or not? Of course I suspect Apple will hold to not supported but that doesn’t mean won’t work. Sheesh Apple, you’ve kept the wrong things secret.
