Hi, I am used to working with inscriber – the very basic version – where I could create graphics and titles and save them as a TGA.
I could also see the frame from the timeline that the graphic was going over as I worked on it.

Now that I am using Final Cut Pro 6, is there a way to use a similar work flow? Can I do this in Motion?

    Thanks

    Yes.
You can create your texts in Motion overlaying a picture and them export without that background.

Yeah, while in Final Cut Pro just select your clip you want to work with in Motion. Right click on it and choose Send to and then Motion Project. And the clip will appear in Motion ready for you to work with. Or you can just import the clip into Motion. If you don’t want the clip in Motion anymore just disable it or delete it. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Targas always work well in Final Cut. Just a quick word of advice, beware of Photoshop (psd) compositions. Some times the layers are a render hog and have been known to crash the program.
