Graphic display question
Posted by Marc Lucas on January 24, 2013 at 3:32 pmWhy does AE display solids etc like this, is there a way to get a clean solid edge instead of the kind of transparent edges?
Thanks

This also happens when you have a Comp with a very small resolution and you are viewing it with a Wrong Zoom Percentage.

January 24, 2013 at 4:13 pmI get whats happening now. When I select points on the solid layer I didn’t realise it was increasing the scale value opposed to cropping or expanding the actual layer size.
So I assume it is always best practice to make any solid layer the comp size and resize down from that resolution?

January 24, 2013 at 5:06 pmIf a layer is positioned so that its edge doesn’t exactly align with the boundaries of the pixel grid, then After Effects uses antialiasing along that edge. This makes animation appear smooth when a layer moves. If you don’t want this subpixel interpolation, then you can turn it off for a layer by switching it to Draft mode.
Much more detail is in After Effects Help, here:
