    Hello,

I was looking at some wallpapers for GTA V and I was wondering how I could pull this “cartoon” animated effect with After Effects. I do not have photoshop however I was wondering as to how to do it with After Effects. For my pictures, I just render it out as one frame for a picture. As seen in previous titles, this cartoon effect has always been provocative for the game and I was wondering as to how I could do it with After Effects? Thanks!

Have you tried messing around with the Cartoon effect in AE?

Sorry, it’s under Stylize > Cartoon right near the top there.

Oh yeah I was watching a tutorial and the cartoon is just the beginning. I was thinking the same thing however how would I go about making the rest? An example is here. I have Adobe Creative Cloud and I realized it was more possible within Photoshop so I’ll just ask in that section as well. Here’s an example: (Thank you for the help by the way !)

I’d have to say, recreating the look in AE would be near impossible. I’m putting my bets on some awesome shaders and a 3d app for this kind of rendering. But mimicking it wouldn’t be too hard with the Cartoon effect. You just have to plan ahead when you light your scenes and think in the perspective of everything posterized.
