    Hello all,

So lately I’ve been using a lot of grain and textures in the illustrations in my projects. I don’t really need the grain or textures to be animated, I’m happy to have them static – My concern is how best to add the grain? Do I bring it in from Illustrator as a vector texture or from Photoshop as a png or is that a bad idea?

I tried creating all the grain in After Effects (looking through tutorials) however I’m finding that really time consuming/difficult to manage and I end up with a lot of unnecessary layers. What is the best practise so you don’t bog down your file / keep everything organized and can still use illustrations with some level of complexity? Screenshot attached for clarity..

    Thanks in advance!

To archieve this Noise effect you need to add>Roughen Edges Effect in order to add noise around shapes, also apply “track matte” to crop the noise within the border of the shape (for example so that the noise doesn’t get outside the phone). Also you can add>Fractal Noise Effect to add some grain effect on all layers.
I have attached a detailed video tutorial for you.
