I’ve noticed on my captured HD footage that there seems to be grain that appears when the camera is doing fairly quick pans. The grain disappears when the pan ends. I heard this was a problem with pro 2.0 but was fixed in CS3. I captured my footage in 2.0 but had to upgrade to CS3 to get the footage to export to tape properly. I still see the grain in CS3 so, I assume that the problem was in the capture from 2.0 and to correct it, I will need to recapture everything. Is that correct?

I’m pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but i just want to make sure before I redo all the clips…..lol

Experiment with a short capture of the problem area, but I suspect the results will be the same. The problem is a combination of the mpeg codec written to tape by the camera..it lacks frames like DV AND a fast pan which should be avoided with any camera.
