    Hi,

I’m a Premiere Elements user. I make simple DVDs of medical devices that my company developes. Through the help of user groups like this and the user’s manual, I tought myself everything that I know about Premiere Elements, and feel that I’m pretty good with the program.

I’d like to start using Premiere Pro because of the HD and surround sound capabilities. Can anyone tell me if it is possible for someone to learn Premiere Pro on their own? Or is it a complicated program that would require taking a class?

    Thanks,
    Dave

Since you are familiar with video editing concepts, you should be able to learn PPro quickly.

When I started PPro, I had already been using a different brand of software. When I started PPRo, I didn’t know any body who used it, so I learned on my own. I did buy Adobe’s Classroom In A Book, for PPro. The helped the transition. And I did put the book down, after I went through only half the lessions. That was enough to get familiar with the interface.

I never took a sit down class.

There are free tutorial’s on the web. See Steven Gotz’s and Wrigley’s web sites.

    Just do it!
