Grading with 2K vs 4K DPX
I am planning on grading a feature film (shot with RED at 4K) in Resolve using 10 bit DPXs (RedLogFilm, Redcolor 3) and would like to know if there would be a discernible difference between grading using a 4K resolution or 2K resolution if the final output is 2K?
VFX will get 4K files for compositing, cropping, and stabilizing. The advantages are clear there.
Any advice?

Unless you really need the resolution, you’re going to be much happier with 2k. 4k isn’t twice the data, it’s four times the data, four times the processing, four times the hassle. So unless you really need it, save yourself a headache. One thing you might be better off doing though is using the r3d. Adjusting the camera metadata can often help you save so something that might have been lost.
