Grading 3d on flat footage
Quick question -I am doing some 3d on live action shots, and the final grading will be done elsewhere.
My question is do I try to match the flat colors from the RED cam or should I give it a basic grade myself before compositing? -

Match the look of the un-graded footage. Make sure you provide the same color information though in your final render as it is in the raw footage.

I am not sure exactly if I have the same color information though?
The color profile from my 3d app is sRGB but not sure what the footage is? -is this at all what you are talking about? -
You want to keep as much color information as possible. Work in AE at 32 bit and render out DPX or similar to keep that info in there. As per your 3d app, render with as much color info as the app allows for.
