Gradient Brush Stroke Effects
Im trying to figure out how to add gradient to a brush stroke or a shadow to a stroke. Something like these strokes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrnNxJ8Gj2s the way they change colors. I tried using layer style but it doesn’t take effects for some reason.

Try using the shape tool, you can gradients within the tool.
