I understand that rendering with the Blackmagic 10bit with Trillons of Colors removes gradient banding in renders.

I’ve recently worked on a project in After Effects 6.5 my project was setup to 16bit and rendered my composition with the Blackmagic 10bit with the Trillons of Colors codec and there were obvious significant banding issues. I rendered the same composition again with the Lossless (Millions of colors) codec and there was no banding to be seen.

    I’m running on 4 x 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5 (5.5 GB DDR2 SDRAM)
I currently have Blackmagic Decklink 6.3 installed.

So my question is, am I missing a step in the project/ render setup? Why is it that I still have banding issues with the Blackmagic 10 bit (TOC) codec?
