This seems like something that should be easy, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to do it. I have a solid graphic that I want to make into a “lower third” for a TV show. It needs to gradually become transparent from the left to the right side of the screen. How can I do this? Please help. Thanks very much.

Create a gradient on an alpha channel

Go to the window pull down menu > Channels and create a new channel

Create a gradient from white to black. The white will be opaque. the black transparent.

However you save the file, make sure you save with alpha channels. If your saving as a Targa, save with 32 bit.

    Good Luck
