  • GPS data graphic overlay from external file

    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had had experience loading data from an external XML, TXT, or CSV to show a graphic representation of speed, lat/long, etc from a GPS device via the custom scripts panel?

I was able to export the GPS data from the new contour+ and wanted to make speedometer and elevation overlays for the video.

In the contour storyteller software there is an option to export GPX cross platform GPS data. I was able to add a .TXT to the end of the GPX file and found out its an XML document.

Also I can export CSV data from the storyteller software, but I think it truncates the Lat/Long data to 2 decimal points.

    Can anyone please help me?
    Thanks for your time.

This definitely requires a script. Perhaps the COW’s Expression Forum is a better place for your Q. Additionally, https://www.aescripts.com is another place you should visit.

    Hi Roland,

I will check out that section, thank you.

I have started a question over at aescripts already with no response, yet.

    Hi Todd,

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I really appreciate it.
I’ll do some digging and see what the next step will be.
