Got to PRAISE the Cow!
I picked up the 3 piece bundle of Serious Effects & Compositing for AE, Film Magic Pro and Action Movie Essentials. I was most interested in the first title because I had taken a course in AE a couple of years ago. The instructor was good but mostly advertising oriented and I was interested in movie making. I knew Andrew Kramer’s tutorials were good from watching them from the Cow. His DVD is perfect from my perspective. Clear, concise, pointed and abundant with useful information. It is entitled “for AE7” and I only have AE6.5. I had assumed 6.5 wouldn’t handle HDV footage but it does and even the proxies are simple to use. If anyone is holding back because they don’t have 7, they shouldn’t.
I haven’t used the other stuff as much yet but I do understand what it is and everything is high quality. I did drag some of the Action Movie Essentials directly into Vegas and they work fine there. I got to hand it to you guys, I’ve never seen you put out anything but high quality – magazine, tutorials, newsletter, forums.
