    Hi friends,
I shot a music video with a GoPro 3, 1.920 x 1.440, 47.95fps. The band played twice the speed of the song. Old effect of synced slow.
    My question is:
How do I use these files on an 720p fcp sequence? I chose 720p because I will resize the clips all the time.
    Help, please.
    Thanks a lot,
    Ricardo

    Hi Dave,
thanks a lot for your answer.
I already conformed them, then I exported to Apple ProRes 422 (HQ). Should I’ve done it?

And once 1920×1440 is 4:3, how can I get the 16:9 image back without affecting its quality and not getting squeezed?

    Thank you!!!

    Thanks again, Dave!

So, my sequence would be a 1920×1440 anamorphic or 1080×720?

Cause I need to zoom in the GoPros at some points, big, like 140%, resizing the image.

I have MarkIII 720p clips too.

    Thanks, Dave.

Sorry Dave, the GoPro shoots a large format 4:3…it’s an odd one. 1920×1440…I see the confusion. 1440×1080 is anamorphic HD. But 1920×1440…that’s 4:3. The only way to make this 16:9 without squeezing is…cropping. Chopping off bit of the top or bottom, or both.

    Thanks, Shane.

    So, the big question:
I need the GoPro files in a 16:9 sequence, with an aspect ratio I can zoom in (resize) at some points, without losing quality. A 720p, I guess? So I’d have 1990×1440 to shrink into a smaller aspect.

    Am I tripping?

    Thanks a lot,
    Ricardo

If you want to not lose quality, and zoom in, then yes, 720p is your best bet. FCP 7 isn’t the best app for this though..I hate to say. You’ll be doing a lot of rendering before you can play back smoothly. Premiere PRo CC is better suited. I use that for all my GoPro stuff.
