Good Sound Effects?
Posted by Mike Wheeler on August 17, 2007 at 3:45 pmHey..
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to get good sound effects to be used in conjunction with after effects?
I’m not looking for “real” sounds such as engines or animals, but effects that you can place over things like the shine effect or something along those lines…
Thanks!

August 17, 2007 at 4:21 pmCreative Cow leader Andrew Kramer has a sound effects kit which you can find at videocopilot.net – things like whooshes and explosions, reverse symbols… that sort of thing.
However, I’ll tell you to look through regular sound effects sites because they do have a lot fo this stuff – often under a sci-fi section or something like that.
Also, if you have any audio chops at all, you can record yourself making noises and play around with it in an audio editor until it’s so distorted that it sounds sci-fi and shine-ish. Get some echo and chorus, and you;re already far ahead. That’s what I do.
