    David,

    You were right. The article is very informative. Thanks for posting the the link. I was espeicailly interested to know that programs like Premiere Pro use an intermediary codec to capture HDV and therefore can’t edit this format in its native environment. That would definitely slow down the workflow and final output quality.

    Don,

    Matrox Axio with Premiere Pro has announced that it can handle HDV native now, but its a very expensive solution.

    I’d advise that you keep your eyes and ears open, cuz editing native HDV isn’t all that its cracked up to be in all situations. After doing a great deal of homework on the subject, I’m convinced that converting to DVCPro 100 at some point during editing is the best way to go. I will most likely edit my next project HDV native, but then I plan to convert the finished cut to DVCPro 100 before rendering all final titles and effects.
