Good LCD monitors?
Can anyone chime in and give their recommendations of good quality, fair priced broadcast LCD field monitors that I can use with our new GYHM 700. I know Marshall makes some nice 7″ monitors, but I’m thinking it’s a little too small for critical monitoring. What else is out there? Maybe a little bit bigger.

Luis Sinabaldi is an LA DP that was frustrated by the low quality and high price of LCD monitors so he spec’ed and built his own. He’s a one-man operation, so the lead time can be a bit long, but the price was right and it was absolutely worth the wait.
We’re getting ready to buy three more studio cams and I’m insisting on topping them with three more Carrion’s.

The Ikan V17 is a pretty good monitor at a reasonable price. At 17″ it’s big enough to actually be useful in the field or studio and has HDMI input if that matters to you.
