Why is it that when I Go to Previous Edit Command it takes me to the next edit point but goes into trim mode? Is there a way to turn this off and just have the play head go to the next edit?

    Thanks

Remap it to Fast Forward and Rewind. Then it will go to the next edit without activating trim.

Why is it that sometimes this works and sometimes, REWIND takes me back to the beginning of the timeline?

    Thanks,

Rewind goes to the previous common edit on all selected tracks. If you have a track selected that runs the entire length of your timeline, or is blank, it will go to the beginning of the sequence, or if you have a handful of tracks selected and there is no common edit point it will probably just go to the beginning of the timeline.
