  • Go to Next/Previous Edit Point not working

I’ve seen other posts on this topic, but I can’t seem to get this function to work. I’ve got my keyboard commands mapped to Final Cut shortcuts, so Go to Next/Previous Edit Point is mapped to Up and Down on the keyboard.

I’ve got my tracks targeted, but up and down doesn’t jump to edit points. Hitting Down simply brings me to the end of the sequence — but it doesn’t even move the CTI there, just simply jumps me to the end.

I am using CS5.5 and setting the shortcuts listing to FCP 7 I have up and down as shortcuts for next/previous edit working as expected. Which version of PPro are you using?

    CS5.0.3

I’ve double checked that the keys are indeed mapped to Up and Down, but I’ve also tried mapping them to other keys, such as Page Up and Page Down and same thing. Something about the functionality isn’t working.

Do you have the tracks highlighted that you want to jump cut to cut on?

There are issues with remapping the arrow keys. I don’t bother and map my Left Right scroll wheel buttons to Next/Prev edit

Did you ever resolve this? I can’t figure it out for the life of me. I’ve reassigned different keys. etc., but like you said, it seems to be a problem with function itself…

No, still not working for me either.

just figured it out. i’m switching from fcp so i’m not all that familiar with some of the premiere pro terms and techniques.

anyway, the track must be active, to make the track active you have to click in the track itself on the far left of the timeline panel. i attached a photo here. i hope this helps.

Yeah, I’ve made sure that the track is active. For some reason it still doesn’t want to work for me for some reason.

But apparently it’s just a bug with using the Up and Down arrow keys, because I just tried with Page Up and Page Down and was able to get it to work…
