I need some POV cameras for a live music event. Its seems to me the Go Pro is the answer. Coming out HDMI and then converting signal…

Here is the question? ( everybody hold their breath )

Can you use the camera when it is plugged in ….and do you have to be actually recording to get a signal ?

Are there any other approaches equipment that some on has had experience?

Short answer, yes you can, no need to be recording, and you can hide the menu, at least you could on the version we used.

It’s HDMI, so for anything over 25′, you should convert to SDI. I would also loop the HDMI and zip tie it solidly to the camera to keep it from popping out.
