I’ve arranged twelve still shots in 3D space in a circle and want to have a glowing orb/sun in the middle as the camera spins around the photos. The light would begin glowing brighter with rays shooting out past the photos and growing until it swallows the photos, like a supernova. what effect should I be looking at to do this? I’m on AE 7.0 Professional. Hope this makes sense.

    TIA
    Steven

Trapcode shine and Sapphire’s lighting suite are a pretty good start for this kind of thing. Some of the Sapphire lens flares can be used to this effect by centering, adjusting (or turning off) the pivot (secondary rings)

Anything that’s in AE already that’ll do this? Wasn’t really looking to buy any plugins right now, ya know?

    thx

Yeah, that’s the tricky part. I guess the first thing I’d try would be playing with the standard AE lensflares, paying attention to the kind of global light ramp that would occur when a ‘supernova’ was present. As for centering it in a 3D comp and having that be believeable, probably more specific to your particular file. Good luck!
