My client has giving me some illustrator artwork and I have made is move and all the fun AE kind of stuff but there are also asking if I can make the graphics come more alive. The are using words like glow, pop out, shimmer, sparkle on the sides and stuff like that. can anyone suggest a combo of filters to use to make these graphics come more alive?

I already looked up glow on the forum and I need to go beyond the dup the layers add a blur and change the transfer modes.

    Any help would be awesome!

    Thanks!

    Well he has Trapcode, obviously.

I’d use Invigorator to create subtle extrusions and bevels that catch light-sources, so you get shininess on your layers, and then throw a trapcode Shine or Starglow on top of all that (adj. Layer) with a pretty high threshold so only those specular highlights get an extra glow.

Of course you can use some heavier starglows and shines on other layers.

And experiment with putting lights in your scene so the layers catch the specular highlights in just the right spot.
