Globe with Grid
I’m trying to create a rotating earth with a superimposed grid but where the sea areas are transparent to see the back facing areas of the globe. and anything behind the globe too. This kind of effect is often used in current affairs type programs.
I got to a certain point but I ran in to a problem, here’s what I tried already.
I added CC Sphere to my flat earth image to make my earth and created a new black solid layer on top. I added the grid effect and the cc sphere to that too. No problem so far.
I pick-whipped the rotation of the grid to the earth’s rotation and set the black solid layer to Screen blend mode.
In cc sphere I set the render to full for the earth to see the backfacing areas and front only for the solid with grid.
But I want the black to disappear completely, if I adjust the opacity of the solid layer my grid disappears too !
Any ideas on how to achieve this please ?
