I’m coming from a FCP workflow where I would create a template in Motion for text (lower 3rds) that way if a client wanted to change the font or color of the font I could do this to the original template and all instances would update. Is there a way to do this in Premiere? Global changes to text that is. Thanks.

I use templates for lower thirds using the title tool.
Type your text in Title Tool
With the Title Tool open hit “Command j” to open the Templates window
At the upper right of the Templates window click the icon and select “Import Current Title as Template”
rename your title and it should appear in the Templates window under User Templates.

    hope that helps

That addresses some of what you want…but not all of it….

you are taking about propagating style changes across multiple existing titles….

particularly with font style changes, this can get tricky…

    Might want to consider doing

the text part of titles as a multi layer photoshop doc….

then using the various layers as the text portion of your titles in Ppro…

that way if you decide to change fonts…

you can multi-select layers in Photoshop….
    change the font…

    resave…

then it will all be updated in PPro….
