  • global illumination results in ignoring specular highlights

I’ve noticed a difference in rendering with and without global illumination. especially noticable with hight glossy metal textures like silver: with GI there is no (or hardly any) specular highlight anymore. Can I solve this problem? thanks, rene

    Hi René,

Global Ilimination simulate how light reflects off surfaces, adding realistic using indirect lighting and soft shadows Instead of only accounting for light coming directly from the source. Therefore, the loss of specular when using GI is likely due to something in the scene envirenement is affecting the reflected light.
