Glitching Text Out Animation
I’m new to after effects, but I have extensively searched and have not come up with exactly what I’m looking for.
Could someone explain how to create the flickering glitching text animation seen here:

Is this a template or animation? Or is this achievable within the AE presets? I am using AE CS6. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It looks to me as if it might be Twitch, from Video Copilot. It’s possible that it’s an AE text preset, but I don’t think so. If you browse the presets in Adobe Bride, you can look over animated thumbnails of them to see if there’s one which fits your needs.

I’ve looked through all the presets and there is nothing similar to that animation. I was thinking it might be from the Twitch software based on previews I’ve seen but I wasn’t sure. Thanks for the help!

If you do search for “bad” in your presets search box you will cum up with 3 BadTV presets you can apply to text, that will probably do the trick.
Or take a look at this thread. I linked to the AESCripts “BadTV” plugin and linked to a project I created that recreates a portion of the BADTV look.

I found the three BadTV presets before and BadTV 2 was closest to what I was looking for, however I was not able to get it to work exactly like I wanted to. I’ll have to go back and work with it and see what I can do. Much appreciated!

You’re most welcome Bryan. FWIW, if folks here are on Facebook, you’ll receive frequent updates and links from the AE Team via the official Adobe AE page; which was were I found out about this link.
You may also want to look at using AE’s Motion Sketch to achieve similar but more controlled movement.
