Page 50 for “Movie Mode (Normal/Frame)” …. mentions nothing about what the actual FPS is under this mode. I can’t find any other mention about this frame mode in the manual. Anyone?

Just so I a little more clear… it is the FRAME MODE that is unclear to me. Obviously normal is standard NTSC.

Frame mode combines the two interlaced fields into one before it’s recorded to tape. The popular belief is that a considerable amount of picture resolution is lost with this method. Frame mode is not progressive scanning, which records one complete picture for every frame without having to combine the interlaced fields. Progressive scanning is not possible without using progressive scan CCD’s, which the GL2 does not have. Frame mode on the GL2 is recorded at 30fps.
