    Given drive with files already transcoded

    Hello,

    I am relatively new to avid and am assisting on the edit of a documentary. I have started a week before the editor to set everything up. The producers have given me a harddrive with all the original media but it also has a folder named transcodes with all the files transcoded to .mxf. I would usually set up a project, ama link and then transcode. Wondering am I able to ama link to these already transcoded files or is there a way to use them? It appears as though they have been transcoded in avid but I can’t find any project on the drive where they all are.

    Any help appreciated. Thanks!
