    Hi,
I have several hours of 1080i HDV footage (shot with Sony FX1E) with a flicker/ghosting/artifacting problem within Final Cut.

With fast movement or camera pans, a noticeable blur is present — and within Final Cut and in exported material, the image seems to “jump”.

I have tried ProRes 422, Uncompressed 10-bit, changing the field dominance, and various other settings. I do not have an external monitor, but the problem persists on both the computer monitor and the TV when exported.

Is there an ideal setting for consistent smooth image quality?

The video was shot HDV, 1080i50, 1440×1080. Thanks.

I have no answer but the same issue; a flicker/jump quality to ONLY certain clips. I DO have an external monitor and the flicker quality has the same issue. We filmed in both SD and HD and our sequence/project is 720×480 NTSC DV 3:2. I’ve tried playing with the field dominance as well, and the FCP flicker filter, smooth cam, time remap (though this last one I was experimenting with and may have used incorrectly). help?

Still unable to solve this issue:

Anyone know a solution to eliminate blur in moving HDV footage?
