I noticed something weird when relaunching final cut pro X recently because it was slowing down and beach balling constantly. Before I quit there would be this question window coming up : Do you want to cancel the background render?
Actually the background render option was not selected in the preferences
so I really wonder what that could mean?

You get that dialog box when you’ve elected to optimise media, set preferences to optimise multicam, or FCPX is in the process of doing some other required render. These renders are system background tasks that aren’t relacted to the standard background render option.

Actually it keeps on doing these background renders, the fact that i checked the multicamere render did not seem to imporve the problem. The only thing I can do is start again. I guess the only way to get around this issue is to render the rushes in apple pro res.
