Hi. I’m just getting around to trying the Timelapse function on the Panasonic GH5. I set all the correct parameters, started the process, and it appeared to work okay. Except for one thing. I had set the aspect ratio to 16:9, but the finished sequence had an aspect ratio of 4:3. I know 4:3 is simply the square root of 16:9, but in the viewfinder it looks most definitely “squarer”, not oblong. Is this the normal result with this function? That is, will I have to zoom up the image to fit a TV screen, thus losing a bit of resolution?

Excuse my ignorance. I’m just getting started with this stuff, so silly questions will probably be the norm for a while. ☺

“I had set the aspect ratio to 16:9” is the final video file 16×9 or 4×3?
Depending on how large your stills are, yes, you can zoom in and frame in the edit.

Chris, the image in preview is 4:3, but with a darker frame area around it which looks like 16:9. Update: I did another one, and got a full frame result. So Whatever I did, worked.

    I filmed in RAW, too.

    Thanks for your reply, Chris.
