Hello GH4 users. I just ran into a serious problem that never happened to me until now.
I was producing a 2 cam shoot with 2 GH4’s Both cams were using Transcend 64G UHS-1 class 10 Sd cards that were formatted before the shoot. The cams were shooting a concert. When I tried transferring the footage from one of the cards, I noticed a mdt file 3G large. I can’t open this file and it contains about 8 min of footage. After doing some research, I found other GH4 users have encountered a similar problem with no real explanation. IF the file can be recovered, I have to send it to a recovery service that will run me over $100.

Have you heard of this mdt file issue. This really scares me and has me worried for future shoots.

Are you trying to shoot in 4k on those cards?

I believe you, but you didn’t answer my question. The stated requirement for 4k shooting is U3 cards.

U3 class 10 cards are what I use for shooting in 4k
