GH2 Exposure issues
Hello everyone. I had a problem today with my GH2, I hope someone can help me.
When I switched it to video (whether is 24p cinema or manual video mode) it got very dark, almost completely black. Its the first time that happens to me with this camera. When I switch from still image mode to movie mode, I need to significantly increase the ISO setting before the live view will show me a reasonably light image. Why a scene that will give me a good still image at ISO 160 needs a much higher ISO setting for a movie? What could be happening? What do I need to do to fix it?

Not sure what’s going on with your camera ( my GH2 has never shown this problem ), but you might want to try doing a full reset of the camera.

I tried to reset it from the option in the menu but nothing happened. Could you please tell me how to reset it? -
It’s ok, thank you, I found out how to reset it. I did it but the problem continues the same…

Does this problem show up with other lenses?
Have you tried switching lenses ?

Are you indoors? A little on the dark side?
Try outside and another lens.Chris

Hi Valentina, I have seen this with the GH2. It is usually an exposure setting issue. It is possible to have different settings for stills and video. In addition to checking ISO, you should also check shutter speed and exposure compensation. What shutter speed do you have set? Do you have any +/- exposure compensation dialed in?
