Getting SPRM from button over video
Has anyone successfully pulled the value of SPRM 8 from a button over moving video?
From my main menu, there are 8 buttons that take you to 8 different tracks. They were assigned as buttons 1 through 8.
If you select button 1, it reads 1024 into SPRM8, which is correct.
Now you’re at track one. There are 8 buttons over the video, once again assigned as buttons 1 through 8 (DVDSP set the button numbers, I didn’t)
Watching on the register, as you cycle through the buttons, SPRM remains at 1024. It seems to be ignoring the buttons on the video. If I just put a destination in the buttons for when it’s selected, it branches properly to the right track. So the buttons work. I’m trying to do all my navigation with scripting instead of programming each individual button.
So my question is, should the value of SPRM8 update when the button is over video instead of being on a menu?

You’re in the the wrong forum.
Dont trust the simulator for anything.. its very buggy. Have you burned a test disc?

Sorry about the wrong forum. My computer automatically goes to the FCP forum when I come to the Cow. It seemed awfully strange when I did a search on SPRM’s and only got one result.
Your advice was correct. The scripts are running fine when I burn a test disk. I always hear everyone say that simulator is buggy, but this is the first time I’ve seen if for myself.
