For such a seemingly simple question, I’ve yet to find an answer.

Any suggestions on affordably getting the DVCProHD project out of the computer to display on a monitor for realtime playback? I plan on buying an HD production monitor this year for color correction, but would like to display the project on a 32″ Sony Bravia LCD screen for client reference.

Do I need to buy a specific card, or is there a firewire option?

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Brad

PS. I’m shooting with the HVX200.

For your tower, the Decklink INTENSITY might be your best bet. HDMI in and out…and if your BRAVIA has HDMI, this might be the ticket. The INTENSITY PRO does component. They start at $249.

Matrox MXO is an option. That in an external box that connects via DVI out, and when connected to an Apple 23″ or Dell 24″ display, gets you broadcast colors. This goes for $995. This is playback only.

Then you are looking at the big boys…Decklink Extreme and AJA Kona 3 or LH.

    Thank you.

I don’t know why I wasn’t able to find that before.

I’m going to look into the Decklink line first. Does Final Cut recognize this hardware? Do you use any of these?

    Thanks,
    Brad

The Intensity does NOT support 720/24 pN, however. Just over 60
